The Row | private-sector rental
Rental is also possible in the new urban district of Aan het IJ. For example, construction is currently nearing completion on two buildings with free-sector rental apartments called The Row and The Line. The Row, located on Spadinalaan, is completed. There are still a few apartments available in The Row.
The Row has a total of 92 free-sector rental apartments. It offers a mix of two-, three- and four-room apartments with between about 50 and 130m2 of living space and two penthouses of 115 and 134m2 respectively. Rents vary from €1,165 to €1,995 per month, excluding service costs and parking. A limited number of parking spaces is available for rent at €150 per month. The rental apartments in The Row have premium-quality PVC flooring.
The building was designed by DP6 architecture studio. The theme of this beautifully designed residential complex is transparency. Think glass, plenty of glass, and special louvre doors for the high windows.
Guided tour of The Row in Dutch
If you’d like to take a sneak preview of The Row (private-sector rental) in the Aan het IJ, new urban district in Amsterdam Noord, Kelly of Eefje Voogd Makelaardij (estate agents) will be pleased to walk you around.
Glass also dominates the main entrance. In combination with the high ceiling, it creates an appealingly light and spacious hall that’s very welcoming to walk into and an easy place to strike up a conversation. A beautiful, large tree grows in the centre of the hall. The doors to the entrance hall and the parking garage can be opened with a keytag. Private storage facilities and a limited number of parking spaces are to be found in the parking garage. And to enable you to make optimum use of your private storage facility, a communal bicycle shed is available for your bicycle.
Your own balcony, and the use of a courtyard
Every apartment has its own balcony and some apartments have a spacious roof terrace. Moreover, in addition to having your own balcony, you can also make use of a communal courtyard garden. This garden is unique in every respect. A green, façade-to-façade, carpet of fluffy grasses, flowering plants and multi-trunk trees, with walking paths that meander through it all. The paths are bordered by red steel edging-walls that protrude between 10 and 80 centimetres above the ground and they are dominated by a large artwork called “The Spider”. The Spider and lounger benches beneath it take centre stage in the lush green carpet.
The underlying idea is that the heart of the courtyard garden should stimulate collective use, mutual interaction and a feeling of belonging. It will become the ultimate recreational area where you can meet, celebrate a birthday or organise a few drinks with your neighbours. Alternatively, you can just read a book there or soak up the nature.
